    When Michael “The Pink Fairy” Webb lines up for this year’s Comrades Marathon, he won’t just be running one of the world’s toughest races.

    He’ll be running to raise funds for the King Williams Town SPCA and the animals that depend on it.

    When VIP pledged R30 000 to support the cause and challenged Dynamic Brands to match their contribution, we did not hesitate.

    Even though we are a “smaller ” event it still carries risks..

    57 Years for R5 700

    Mini Triathlon Fundraising Challenge

    To celebrate 57 years, a special mini triathlon challenge is being undertaken to raise R5 700 in support of Hilltop Animal Outreach, with proceeds facilitated by Pink Fairy.

    The Challenge

    The mini triathlon will consist of:

    57 km MTB (Mountain Bike)

    5.7 km Run

    570 m Swim

    Each distance represents the milestone of 57 years.

    I ran the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon in my Pink Fairy outfit to raise funds for Afripaw, a Cape Town-based animal welfare organisation doing fantastic work in underserved communities. My fundraising target was a minimum of R4,220, with a run goal of finishing in under four hoursโ€”though the time depended on how many donation stops I made along the way!
